Ivies Incorporated of the Roanoke Valley Receives $5,000 Grant from Rosie’s Gives Back
ROANOKE, Va., October 30, 2026 — Ivies Incorporated of the Roanoke Valley is pleased to announce receipt of a $5,000 grant from Rosie’s Gaming Emporium–Vinton through Rosie’s Gives Back, supporting the Foundation’s commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals and families in our community.
The award follows the Foundation’s February 2026 application highlighting two community priorities: scholarships for high school students in the Roanoke Valley and surrounding counties, and food assistance for students at Round Hill Elementary School through the Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (AKA CHIPP), coordinated by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Beta Chi Omega Chapter.
The application emphasized reducing financial barriers to postsecondary education and helping children access food during extended school breaks and closings. These priorities reflect the Foundation’s focus on Education, Health, Family, Economics, and Environment.
The Foundation recognizes its Grant Development Team, including Allison Claytor-Poindexter, Director of Strategic Fundraising and Sponsorship Development, and Rebecah Smith, Director of Grant Writing, along with Cleopatra Kitt, PhD, President, and Janis Wade, Vice President, both officers and members of the Board of Directors. Their collective work helped secure this investment in the communities we serve.
The Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to Todd Lear, General Manager of Rosie’s Gaming Emporium–Vinton, located at 1135 Vinyard Road, Vinton, VA 24179, and the Rosie’s Gives Back team for this generous support. Rosie’s commitment to “Lead by Example” through community investment aligns with the Foundation’s dedication to strengthening local families and expanding educational opportunities.
We also thank our Foundation members whose continued service and support make this work possible.
